GeNeSys Mirror
The European
GeneNetwork mirror,
GeNeSys, is located at the Helmholtz-Zentrum für Infektionsforschung (HZI) in Braunschweig, Germany.
The system is running on
CentOS 5 on a x86_64 installation. The web component and the mySQL component of
GeneNetwork are both running on the same machine. The computer itself is a A 1-U Dell
PowerEdge? ? 1950, single processor dual core Xeon 5140 Woodcrest, 2.33 GHz, 2 GB RAM, and a single 500 GB HD. At present, there is no automated backup for the mirror, so a second harddrive should probably be purchased and added (there is an unused drive bay in the machine).
The mirror can be accessed via SSH remotely. The local IP address is 192.168.2.160, and the external IP address is 193.175.244.160.
The structure of the computer's filesystem is identical to
Web2QTL? 's structure, and thus most of the web and python code from
Web2QTL? worked directly after copying it. However, the majority of the files were altered, so you can't simply copy one over from
Web2QTL? and have it work if you are updating the code.
the same situation.
The
MySQL database is currently identical to Opteron’s, both in data and in structure. The data is not yet automatically synced, and it must be updated by hand when an update is deemed necessary. The
MySQL database at
GeNeSys could, however, be set up as a slave to Opteron.
If you experience any problems while setting up an installation of a copy of
GeneNetwork, check out the
MirrorInstallation instructions to see how I set up
GeNeSys.
If you are the administrator of
GeNeSys and you are looking for information about how to update either the code or the database data by hand, see
GenesysUpdate.
