August 2006,

1. Finish beta site construction and testing, and the backup (test) database server construction, subversion and other codebase infrastructure.

2. Plan on next release

  • accommodate new affymetrix exon ST array
  • new interface for data exchange for BIRN (possiblly new common data model using XML). Specificly, an interface to search genes.
  • More?

3. Plan on construction of archive site of GN.

4. Plan on migrating GN web server to remote site (UCSD Rocks).

December 2006

1. Improvements:
  • Change the presentation of the probe set location data on website (see the discussion on roundup in issue of "Error on Mm8")

2. Plan on Release the mature version on web2qtl to GN main site

January 2007:

Implement new SNP data table and web features:

1. collect SNPs for mouse.

2. new format of SNP table, all combined ? Mysql tables incllude SnpAll, SnpSource? , SnpXRef? , Strain, SnpAllele? . Keep the schema or modify?? Also the probe position from Ensemble is available for each probe on the tables Hongqiang just added.

1) ID (Ref Id??), Acession #, RS#,

2) look at our Snpbrowser table,

3) Strains?

3. features:

1) align them with probes. -- see probe tool

2) SNP search feature in Snpbrowser or the search page?

3) SNP is coding or none-coding, in snpbrowser?

4. for Lu Lu: separated tables for different sources

Question: Is this scientifically original?

April 2007:

Snp Browser phase II:

1. Add different color scheme for genotypes: We can let user pick a reference strain, and assign a color to it. The opposite genotype will be assigned to the other color

2. Put all text documentaion to a static page that Rob can edit. The layout of the page need to be re-disigned. The first line can be put into a list, and the title should be like "Snp Browser". Strand information can be displayed.

3. Gene allias, ideally, should lead to the same results (can that be done?)

4. Add function search box.

5. Have the search NOT return an error message but to send the user to the original "search" screen with the coordinates of the probe set +/- 10,000 bp.
